We Review a Family Staycation Deal at Le Meridien Cyberport | Liv

Anshu Rijhwani reviews a wallet-friendly family staycation package at Le Meridien Cyberport Staycation in Hong Kong.

With COVID-19 still grounding flights and keeping us all in Hong Kong, many of us are planning staycations to help keep the cabin fever at bay. Conveniently located in Pok Fu Lam, Le Meridien Cyberport offers a winning combination of good food, great facilities, a tranquil environment and value for money.

With my husband and daughter in tow, we tried out the family staycation package, which includes meals, kids’ amenities and more.

The Pool at Le Meridien Cyberport

Staying in the Deluxe Ocean Room, we arrived before check-in but were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready and waiting. The kids’ amenities were a hit with my daughter, who went straight to read in the adorable teepee tent. The view of the Lamma channel is spectacular and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous.

We went for an early happy hour at 5pm near the poolside. It was a perfect spread of champagne, canapes and fresh fruit for the kids. We enjoyed the free-flow of bubbles before taking a dip in the outdoor heated pool. When it got too chilly we headed back upstairs for a bath and to get ready for dinner.

Rather than leave the hotel, we opted for an a la carte meal at Prompt Bistro, the hotel’s main buffet restaurant that overlooks the podium garden. A perfect spot to relax while the kids scoot or play outside. From the a la carte menu, we were impressed by the mutton vindaloo and the seafood linguine pasta.

After a relaxing night’s sleep, we returned in the morning for a breakfast buffet, and were impressed the range of healthy options, as well as the live cooking stations for eggs and Asian cuisine. We opted for healthier fare, such as the egg white omelette and a fresh smoothie. Too healthy for you? Don’t worry – you’ll also find pancakes, waffles and fresh fruit galore.

The package includes a late check-out, which gave us ample time to unwind some more at the pool, as well go for a quick run in the hotel gym before it was time to go. The entire experience was flawless, with every detail thought out (shout out to the steal-worthy amenities from MALIN+GOETZ). We left feeling relaxed and refreshed – it felt like we had spent the weekend out in the country, despite it being a mere 10-minute cab ride back home to Kennedy Town.

The verdict? We’re big fans of this Le Meridien Cyberport staycation, and it’s definitely one to try if you need an easy, budget-friendly escape.
