The city’s newest, splashiest hotel, Rosewood Hong Kong has several Hong Kong staycation options, including a Family Escape with breakfast and children’s amenities, but the one that’s giving us all the feels is the Suite Retreats package. Check into a suite and get access to the Manor Club lounge, access to the Asaya wellness centre, and enjoy the ministrations of your very own butler.

How’s the pool? Located at Asaya, the wellness centre, the 25-metre infinity pool has unbeatable harbour views.

Asaya

Part of the Rosewood hotel but with its own dedicated spa rooms, Asaya is as close as you can get to a Thai-style immersive wellness retreat without leaving the city. Asaya’s Reset Staycation is a 360-degree wellness wonderland. Stay in your very own Asaya Lodge and receive a private 60 minute yoga class, an Aroma Atelier one-hour body massage, a meditation and mindfulness session, plus $1,000 dining credit to use across any of the hotel’s outlets. Expect a warm welcome at Le Meridien Cyberport, as their South Escape Staycation room package comes with a selection of their signature desserts Le Scoop (gelato), plus a bottle of bubbly – which for stays up until the end of August will be upgraded to a bottle of Chandon. How’s the pool? We love it! overlooking the hillside, it’s lush and green, with views of the Lamma Channel.

Auberge Discovery Bay 

Located right on the waterfront, Auberge Discovery Bay is a great spot for a Hong Kong staycation that’s surrounded by nature yet not too remote. Their Yoga Escape package includes a night’s stay, breakfast and afternoon tea for two and a one-hour yoga class for two at yogaUP.

How’s the pool? Surrounded by mountains, this 25-metre mosaic pool is perfect for laps and leisurely dips alike.

The Pier

Located beside Pak Sha Wan Pier overlooking Hebe Haven, The Pier, a 40-room boutique hotel, is the perfect stopping off point for exploring Sai Kung, with beaches and kayaking opportunities all within spitting distance. There are several offers for staycations; for instance, the Birthday package includes daily breakfast for two, a bottle of red wine, birthday room decor, shuttle bus and free use of the pool, gym and rooftop garden.
How’s the pool? The gorgeous rooftop pool is closed from November to April.

Four Seasons Hong Kong

The Four Seasons has six staycation packages to choose from this summer, including an additional day retreat option. The one we love is the Wellness Retreat, which includes vibrational sound therapy with singing bowls, special wellness menus, personal fitness training, a nutrition consultation, and, of course, essential quiet time by the outdoor pools. Blissful pampering at The Spa is the icing on the cake here with both an Ayurveda Lifting Facial and body massage also included.

How’s the pool? The MO’s indoor pool was retrofitted, making it better for floating than lane swimming. We do love the LED wall that live streams the Hong Kong skyline though!

Cordis Hotel

Cordis Hotel is offering no less than eighteen different staycation packages this summer, and the one we’re loving is the Summer Screenings package. The hotel’s grand ballroom is converted into a movie theatre where guests can enjoy the movie from the comfort of their own king-size bed. Drinks and canapes are served on arrival, plus expect the usual film-worthy snacks (hello popcorn machine!) throughout the evening. When you finally hit your own bed, opt for your pillow of choice from the pillow menu to ensure the perfect night’s sleep.


How’s the pool? We love this 41st floor heated rooftop pool, which is lit up with twinkling lights. The hot tub is a super spot for a moonlight soak.

St. Regis Hong Kong

Hyatt Centric

One of the best bang for your buck deals going this summer can be found at Hyatt Centric, located in North Point. The Centric Staycation, with rates starting at only $960 + 10%, includes one-night accommodation with a breakfast buffet for two at The Farmhouse restaurant. PLUS your choice of a lunch buffet at The Farmhouse or afternoon tea for two at rooftop Cruise restaurant. You can even pay just $400 extra to upgrade the lunch or afternoon tea to a set dinner for two, which includes two hours free-flow. With a rooftop pool and fitness centre, there’s no need to even leave the hotel!

There’s only one thing we love more than a 24 hour staycay, and that’s a whopping 36 hour one. Enter The W Hotel, which offers check-in as early as 8am and as late as 8pm, plus breakfast for two and signature cocktails and tapas platter for two at Wet Deck. There’s even a “W Daydream” welcome surprise and a $500 voucher at bliss spa for use on selected treatments.

How’s the pool? Perched on the 76th floor, this outdoor heated pool is up in the sky. We love the sparkly, insta-ready mosaic and hot tub that you can jump into when the wind gets too much.

ALVA Hotel

Gutted because you didn’t get to Japan for the Olympics this summer? Sha Tin’s ALVA Hotel by Royal has a superbly priced Japanese-themed staycation. In addition to one night accommodation in a deluxe room, the package includes a Japanese Kansai set dinner for two at Mizutani, breakfast for two at Alva House, a sake tasting class, plus complimentary bicycle rental so you can explore the Sha Tin area at your own pace.

Of the various packages on offer at Ocean Park Marriott, we’re lusting after the Absolute Indulgence Detox Package.
