The Buzz
Looking for a unique and totally Insta-worthy spa adventure? Step off Hong Kong Island and you’ll discover quirky local day spas galore. Tucked away in Lai Chi Lok, Weirdo Beauty is one such space, combining sugary pink accents with sprays of dried flowers and dramatic lighting and mirrors for a one-of-a-kind skincare experience. We tried the 90-minute Skindeep Filler Treatment, using products from Italian brand Renlive.
The Treatment
We loved the spacious and oh-so pretty spa suite at Weirdo Beauty, with a separate powder room for getting ready. The staff were also super friendly and ready to explain the treatment in detail. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin, this treatment aims to plump and hydrate the skin, delivering an instant glow. It uses a contraption known as the Einxel Plus, a Korean-made device that stimulates collagen production, improves elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines and scars. The device can also help to refine your facial contours and lift your features. After using the machine, the therapist will apply a deeply hydrating mask to nourish the skin and leave you looking brighter and more radiant.
The Verdict
This isn’t like traditional facials, with steaming and exfoliation; nor is it an invasive aesthetic procedure. It’s the perfect middle-of-the-road treatment for anyone seeking results but also relaxation. The treatment provided a deep boost of hydration and we went straight out afterwards with zero downtime.
