Support a great cause and put yourselves in the shoes of Hong Kong’s 15,000 asylum seekers by participating in Justice Centre Hong Kong‘s $40 Challenge.
Taking place from May 27-May 31, participants are challenged to spend just $40 per day on food for five days. This is the equivalent to the daily food allowance the Hong Kong government offers asylum seekers in Hong Kong in the form of supermarket vouchers.
This experience is designed to foster empathy and understanding of the daily hardships faced by refugees. It’s a powerful way to connect with the realities faced by asylum seekers, who rely heavily on charities like Justice Centre for additional support.
How to Support the $40 Challenge
The organisation is hoping to raise $200,000 through this year’s $40 challenge. This will go towards providing practical, meaningful support for refugees in crisis. Previous assistance from Justice Centre’s emergency fund has helped to pay for dental care or emergency housing for refugees in crisis.

Participants are encouraged to share their journey on social media in order to raise awareness of Justice Centre’s important work.
