City of Adventure
Did your annual wellness retreat or active holiday get cancelled this year? Check out Holiday at Home’s Wellness Retreat itineraries, which showcases Hong Kong’s dazzling natural diversity. Far beyond the well-trodden paths, Holiday at Home boasts itineraries that even the most seasoned urban explorer may not yet have heard of.
Explore Wong Mau Chau’s rugged coast
For instance, take a kayak trip to Wong Mau Chau island, where you can spend a day on the beach, explore the charming lighthouse and even admire Sai Kung’s impressive marine biodiversity by snorkeling along the coast.
Ziplining in Ma On Shan
Looking for an adrenaline rush? Head out to Ma On Shan for a day of rock-climbing, zip-lining, abseiling and bouldering with Hong Kong Rock Climbing Adventure. Or, head to Hong Kong’s longest stretch of beach, Shui Hau on Lantau Island, for a kitesurfing adventure with Kiteboarding Hong Kong Association.
Hong Kong is also home to some fascinating geological sites. For instance, Port Island, located at the mouth of Tolo Harbour, is a striking red colour, thanks to iron-rich red sedimentary rocks.
Looking for some ancient history? Admire the rock formations of Basalt Island. Part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, these dramatic cliff formations date back 140 million years. Accessible via boat tour with Eco Travel.
