Hong Kong’s wellness scene continues to come on in leaps and bounds, with exciting new businesses launching every week! Here are a few of our favourite new wellness openings for the month of May.
Asphodel
Hong Kong’s original CrossFit gym, Asphodel has built up a loyal fanbase from its Kennedy Town home, and is known for its expert instructors and friendly community vibe. Their expansion into the heart of Central, in Nan Fung Place on Des Voeux Road, comes as great news for fitness fanatics looking for an even more convenient place to work out. This 4,000-square-foot space allows Asphodel to offer its clients access to two gyms under one membership..

The Skin Space
Skincare expert Florence Fatialofa (pictured) has worked in some of the city’s top spas and clinical skincare settings, and she’s finally set up her own shop in Hollywood Road. The Skin Space offers a full menu of results-driven cosmeceutical facials and treatments, with a focus on tailoring treatments to suit each individual client. Start with a skincare consultation and basic facial, before discussing with Florence exactly what your skin needs – a peel, LED treatment, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, microneedling or IPL – and coming up with a plan together. A simple facial is $1,200, while peels start at $1,600.
Carroll & Chan
Hong Kong-made candle brand Carroll & Chan has just launched its flagship store at 52-60 Lyndhurst Terrace. They use 100 percent beeswax in their candles, which is sustainable, biodegradable and non-toxic. Committed to eco-gifting, their handmade candles are housed in recycled glass jars, with FSC-certified wooden wicks and plastic-free packaging. As for fragrances, expect beautiful blends using Asian scents for inspiration.
Kefi
Kennedy Town’s popular health food cafe has moved to a new location in Bonham Strand, making it perfect for the Sheung Wan lunch crowd looking for a healthy fix during lunch time. You’ll find tons of healthy interpretations of comfort food classics, such as laksa made with konjac noodles, roasted veggies on sourdough bread, smoked salmon eggs benedict with avo hollandaise, and for dessert, flourless banana oat waffles (pictured).
