Each year the beginning of April not only marks the start of the hot and sweaty weather, but also Hong Kong’s famous Rugby Week, a whole seven days of rugby-related activities that culminates in the Cathay Pacific HSBC Hong Kong Sevens on April 5-7. A relatively laid-back precursor to the weekend’s action, the Tens tournament sees 16 teams from both Hong Kong and overseas hit the grass at the Football Club to battle for supremacy.

Hong Kong Sevens Kick-off Concert
If you’re more about the party than the sport, get into the spirit of the weekend with the Hong Kong Sevens kick-off concert on Friday evening. This year, three-time Grammy Award winner Gwen Stefani is getting the party started – and it’s bound to be B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Sevens Central
Skip the stadium crowds and watch your rugby from the comfort of Central Harbourfront, at this festive intown satellite event. The tournament will be shown live on the big screen, with live music and roving performers throughout the day. Free entry. Open 12-8pm.

Fanwalk at Lee Gardens
Lee Gardens is transformed yet again, at this rugby-themed party that’s conveniently situated en route to the stadium. Get into the party spirit with the help of street performers, rugby-themed activation and F&B from many of the competing nations. And of course, catch all the action on a big screen showing the game live.
