The Best Vegan Ice Cream Brands in Hong Kong | Liv

Beat the heat this summer with these vegan ice cream companies, founded right here in Hong Kong! Cool, creamy and oh-so refreshing, you’ll hardly believe they’re dairy-free!

DAMA

Located in K11 Musea, Dama is famous for its vegan soft-serve. Its most famous flavour is the Black Hawaii, made with charcoal, coconut and cacao for a dramatically inky iced treat. The hot pink dragonfruit is an Insta-favourite, while the creamy durian flavour is sweet and mild enough to tempt even durian skeptics. All flavours ring in at under $50. SO COCO

It offers six flavours of ice cream: coconut, chocolate, strawberry, passionfruit, Thai tea and matcha. Can’t decide? Order a bundle and choose a selection of any ten products for just $300. HAPPY COW

With concession stands at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, Happy Cow is Hong Kong’s original vegan ice cream brand. Using coconut milk as a base, Happy Cow has a large and creative selection of flavours, including salted caramel swirl, ginger, pineapple coconut and yin-yang sesame, to name a few. Also available at select Fusion and ParknShop outlets, and GREAT Food Hall. happycowhk.com

HARMONY

The team at Liv can attest to the incredible creaminess of Harmony’s plant milk-based gelato! Made with almond or cashew milk, these indulgent ice creams are made with quality ingredients right here in Hong Kong. We’re particular fans of the pistachio and almond milk, the raspberry and cashew milk, and the fresh and tangy lemon and poppy seed, all of which we can hardly believe are entirely plantbased. Harmony currently has a pop-up at GREAT Food Hall in Pacific Place. Costs between $36-$45 for a 100ml cup. harmonydessert.com.hk

IGLOO DESSERT BAR

While we do love the conventional ice creams at Igloo Dessert Bar, it also offers a selection of vegan ice creams and sorbets to keep herbivores cool during the summer months. The coconut water ice cream is absolutely delish and super healthy, while the intense black charcoal ice cream has a choco-coconut flavour. Shout-out to the sweet and tangy passionfruit sorbet, made with fresh passionfruit. It’s $38 per scoop, or $50 for two. Vegan cakes are also available.
