These new ultra-modern recycling centres earn you rewards for recycling

In an effort to make recycling as exciting as a visit to the Apple store, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has launched some ultra-modern recycling centres around town which are just starting to open their doors to the public. Rebranding as 6green, the sleek, multipurpose recycling network of 22 centres comes with no-fuss bins for all your recyclables, including batteries, lamps and small electrical appliances. The centres are also equipped to hold exhibitions, seminars and workshops on environmental education. Best of all, the EPD has launched a “Green Points” rewards programme, giving recyclers a way to earn points on a smart card that can be exchanged for gift redemptions – a much-needed incentive to get Hongkongers recycling! If you’re not located close to one of the 22 centres, fear not: the EPD has also launched over 100 pop-up recycling points in residential areas. Shop Sustainable Fashion at The American Club on April 20

The American Club Foundation is hosting Sip Style & Shop, a sustainable shopping event on April 20! Taking place at The American Club in Tai Tam, this public event will see some of the city’s best eco business under one roof, offering more than 1,000 items of pre-loved clothing for sale (its on the Southside so you know the pickings will be good!) in support of three local charities: ImpactHK, RUN HK and Chatteris Educational Foundation.
