Ozakaya Launches a new Weekend Brunch
We love a good bubbly brunch, and recently got the chance to check out the newly launched offering from Ozakaya. With a whopping four-hour free flow option of wine, bubbles, sake, juice, soft drinks and bottled water, this is one you can indulge in all afternoon. It begins with unlimited small plates, from the standard steamed edamame to the indulgent beef tataki with chimmichuri or the crunchy karaage (fried chicken), plus sashimi and sushi galore. We suggest ordering one of everything and then more of your favourites. Once you’ve had your fill of appetizers, order one a la carte main from the menu – we had the black cod saikyo, the wagyu and the grilled hamachi fillet. Finish off with desserts to share: a molten matcha chocolate cake, Hokkaido milk chips ice cream and fresh fruit. Brunch is served from noon-3pm and the free-flow ends at 4pm. The brunch costs $498, with an optional $190 add-on for free-flow.
Healthy options? There are plenty of proteins here, from sashimi to grilled meats, making it an easy option if you’re avoiding heavy carbs. For vegetarians, you’ll find plenty on the appetizer menu, including a yummy shojin maki roll with fresh veg, avocado and pickles, and the addictive corn ribs with lime miso butter. For mains, you can opt for the yummy takana maitake rice with mushrooms. We also love the beverage options available for non-drinkers, from mineral water to soft drinks and juice.
