New play ‘I’mperfect’ by HKYAF tackles pressures of body images and social media

If you’ve been itching for a night out at the theatre we’ve got just the ticket for you! I’mperfect is the latest production from Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF). It’s a theatrical performance tackling issues like body dysmorphia, the unreality of social media, and female friendships, through the magic of theatre, dance, music and video. Written and directed by HKYAF founder Lindsey McAlister, the play tells the story of three young women who meet in a chat room, each creating their own online reality that belies their real-world struggles to achieve perfection. What’s more, the production features an all-female cast of 35 talented young actors and dancers. Tickets cost $250-$300 (concession $220-$260). Book online at popticket.hk/event/imperfect.

From November 10-12 at Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2 Harbour Rd., Wan Chai, hkyaf.com/events/935
