Peak Tram re-opens with reduced waiting times and bigger cars

Guess who’s back with a brand new track! Yes that’s right, the Peak Tram has made its triumphant return after a year of sorely needed refurbishments. The 6th Generation Peak Tram features a slew of fancy upgrades, including new track rails, roomier tramcars, signalling systems, improved accessibility, and larger waiting areas equipped with air-con. It’s estimated that the $799 million project will reduce waiting times by over 70 percent – no more soul-destroying queues! Built in 1888, the Peak Tram is one of the world’s oldest funicular railways, and an iconic part of Hong Kong history. Love it or hate it, the tourist attraction is an institution, and one we’re excited to rediscover given the new enhancements. Better still, Hong Kong residents receive special discounted ticket prices until the end of October!
