Food-saving app CHOMP lets you rescue snacks and meals from popular F&B businesses

Hong Kong has an unfortunate reputation as a city with a massive food waste issue – it accounts for 40 percent of our landfills! CHOMP is a newly launched app that helps solve that problem. The platform connects F&B businesses like restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries to customers who can purchase a “Mystery Box” of unsold food items from them. Everything from fresh fruit, pastries and vegan cakes to restaurant-quality meals (think banh mi sandwiches and vegetarian dumplings) are up for grabs from some of our fave retailers including Live Zero, Sweetpea Cafe, Bahn Mi Kitchen and LockCha Tea House. We also love their Instagram (@chompfoodwaste) which has clever tips and tricks for reducing your food waste at home.

Available on iOS and Android.
