Those who wonder
Thailand’s music and eo-oriented festival is back again from December 14 to 17. This year, Wonderfruit is bringing together eclectic music acts like American experimental rock band Yeasayer, Filipino rapper Curtismith, and even some Thai reggae from Gapi and the Thai Dub Mafia. The tunes come paired with an ever-increasing lineup of wellness activities, workshops, food-fueled experiences (look for Dean & Deluca and a slew of organic Thai eats) as well as a few family-friendly activities, such as bowling and paddle boarding. If dancing for three days doesn’t wear you out, there’s always fitness classes and yoga sessions – not to mention light and flotation therapy to wind you down. This is one festival you might just leave feeling better than when you arrived.
December 14-17, 2017. Four-day tickets from $1,488. wonderfruitfestival.com.

What’s your mantra?
Over in Koh Samui, Mantra Samui Resort just introduced its brand new Jai Spa – picture bamboo-clad walls, high ceilings and jungle all around. The spa’s philosophy revolves the mantra “slow-slow-slow,” inviting travellers to take each day at their own pace. That concept leaks into the treatments too, for which therapists use all-natural, homegrown ingredients such as coconut milk, lemon juice, tamarind, and lemongrass – all grown in the hotel’s gardens. Weekend break, anyone? There’s a “A Mantra for Mantra” opening wellness package that sounds amazing. It includes three nights, roundtrip transfers, a personal “spa plan,” two treatments a day, breakfast, healthy lunch or dinner daily, a private meditation class, and a private yoga class. Remember: take it slow-slow-slow.
Available until March 31 2018. From $5,287 including private yoga and meditation. 9/124 Moo 1, Mae Nam, Koh Samui, 84330, Thailand; +66 77 951 600, mantrasamui.com.
